The National Association of Women Journalist, Ogun State Chapter, in collaboration with Odeda local government area on Friday, October 15, 2021 gave the rural women across the ten (10) wards in Odeda local government a remarkable celebration of International Day of Rural Women.
The program featured various impactful programs such as; Health Talks, seminar on Agro-Business, diagnosis and treatment of the sick, distribution of gift items to the participants, open dialogue to identify the needs of the people across our villages.
The chairman of Odeda local government, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo declared the program opened in the company of her Vice, Hon. Yaya Adigun and all the councilors representing the 10 wards in Odeda local government.
The chairman in her remarks pointed out the importance of the rural dwellers to the existence of life at the urban centres of the state. Hon. Folasade Adeyemo emphasize the importance of the rural dwellers as she called them the mothers and sustainer of the urban settlers and the chairman also assured the rural women of the importance the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration attached to those who dwell in the rural areas across the state; hence the reason for the presence of his representatives at this year celebration of world rural women day.












The chairman also promised not to renege on her campaign promises, where she promised to engage in productive programs that will make life easier for the rural settlers.
Also present at the event was the Special adviser to the governor on rural development, Princess Olapeju Shote who represented the ministry of rural development at 2021 International Day of Rural Women hosted by Ilagbe Village, in Odeda local government area.
Just before the end of the program, one of the elders of Ilagbe Village in Odeda commended the Alhaja Folasade led administration in Odeda for the wonderful program that put a smile on the faces of the women who laboured day and night to build the society we all are proud to identify with, and the village elder also request specifically for a pipe-borne water for the community that hosted the program; Ilagbe Village.
The Special adviser to the governor on rural development, Princess Olapeju Shote, in her response to the request for the borehole, promised to partner with Odeda local government chairman in earnest to drill a modern borehole and water system for the people of Ilagbe in order to completely subdue the long-term pains of having to drink directly from the stream.
The Chairman of Odeda local government area promised to make her visit to the rural areas a regular one so that it will be easier for her to identify critical needs and provision of immediate succour to the great people of Odeda local government area.
